Hygiene Education Resources

How do I start a course to educate girls on their periods? Answer, PLEASE!?
I want to start a course for girls and boys, too. To educate them on puberty, health and hygiene, and periods (for girls). How do I get started? What is the legal age, etc. I’m 13 now, o I know I’m going to have to wait for a while. How to get started? What are some good resources? Where can I get a puberty education movie? Thanks. Serious answers only, please! Also, How much money should I save up so I can get all the supplies? Also, if you can share any advice or even a first period story for me to share (anonymous, of course), that’d be great! thank you.
well i doubt you’re of legal age to teach the course, but maybe you can find someone to teach it at your school.
what age approximately are you aiming at? i suppose you contact local elementary and middle schools and ask them to offer a more in-depth health and puberty course after school or something. find someone willing to teach this course. there are probably nurses and educators in your area willing to teach it.
if you’re bent on teaching it yourself, wait till you’re older and then contact the schools in your area. tell them you want to offer the kids there a more in-depth health class. explain what the class would contain and how much it would cost and all that. most schools have a health and puberty program already, though. you’d need to really convince them that yours is worthy of school funding and time. if you want, you could do it separately from school. that would cost more, though, because the school wouldn’t fund it. you might be able to have different funders. and you’d have to have a place to teach it at. my friend’s church offers puberty and health courses for kids, so local churches and temples and synagogues might be a good place to start. your community center, teen center, or YMCA might also be willing to let you use their space to teach this program, and their bulliten boards to advertise it.
there are a lot of resources: http://www.coolnurse.com/puberty.htm

http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&keywords=Puberty&index=vhs&page=1
and just google ‘puberty video’ or something. there are people who will let you buy or rent a cheap puberty video from them. that might cost 20$, i guess. you’ll also want some diagrams, which you can probably print off the internet. or maybe order some fancier diagrams. that might be like 20 dollars. there are special stores for teachers that offer a lot of teaching supplies, like pencils, paper, stickers, posters, desks, very cheaply. all you have to do is prove that you’re an educator. you don’t even have to be a teacher, if you’re a summer camp counselor that’s good enough. these teacher stores probably have puberty teaching stuff like posters and movies. if not, the people there will know where to find them. then you’ll obviously also need some pads and tampons, just to show the kids, and some paper.
if you keep it within a strict budget, maybe like 50-100 dollars? it depends on how in depth the course is.
also, would you be going into sex ed, or is it mainly puberty? sex ed is a whole different ball park, though it’s possible to combine them.
